Ty Lee

I have been waiting anxiously to do this post since the creation of this site. Ty lee is my favourite character, She's bubbly, insightful and can be quite an air head. She is a chi blocking and acrobatic master,. To be able to block someones chi means to render their bending abilities or limbs useless. this skill coupled with the fact that she can move around her environment faster than just about any character on the show easily make her the most dangerous non-bender.
Ty lee was raised in the fire nation along with her six nearly identical sisters. due to the fact that her father was a nobelman she went to the royal fire academy for girls where she met the princess Azula and Mai. shortly after graduation she ran away to the circus feeling last in the crowd of her sisters. Ty lee was the star attraction at the circus until one day the Princess of the fire nation enlisted the aura seer on a "very important mission" and the rest is Avatar history...

Outfit 1:

This is Ty lee's cold weather outfit. The entire look conveys her uber girly, pinky, pouffe, pretty, comfy look  quite well. The coat's sleeves remind me of her outfit and Ty lee would definitely approve of the pink colouring and pretty details. The white scoop neck under the sheer pink lace crew neck neck amps up the sweet girly look. The white jeggingd fall into Ty lee's colour pallet as well as allow movement for stuff like gymnastics. although Ty lee never wears yellow, she would most definitely approve of the style, detailing and visual interest that the bag adds to the outfit.  the slippy boots and beyond girly accessories complete the look.

Outfit 2:

This is Ty lee's warm weather outfit,. The pink sweat pants reminded me of Ty lees. The elastic cuff would be pushed up to the knee resulting in nearly the same effect as hers. The top would have a couple of the top buttons undone to show some extra skin ( which we know that Ty lee loves to do. The shoes also reminded me of hers. The sunny yellow bag ( to match her Sunny personality) and girly bow cuff finish the look.

Outfit 3:

Finally, Formal wear. I chose the pink cherry tree dress because the neckline reminded me of the outfit she wore on ember island.  the sleeves on the sweater (in case it gets cold) reminded me of her shirt i the show. All of the pieces have her trademark pretty, girly style.

Mai

Mai has a truly unique character in terms of both personality and style. She isn't as "high strung and crazy as the rest of us." she has killer shruiken fighting style  and a stellar "New Gothic" fashion sense that this October I most certainly am crazy for. Mai is the daughter of an important politician in the fire nation and went to a very prestigious school where she became Friends with princess Azula and Ty Lee. She also met Azula's older brother, Zuko and developed quite a crush on the young prince and was doubtlessly heart broken when he was banished all though the world would never know it due to indifferent and emotionless exterior. nothing would excite her for a while until her father was appointed Governor of a newly conquered Omashu. One day during an evening stroll she encountered a group of resistance fighters and the rest is Avatar history. Mai is an important character for the character development of Azula and Zuko

Outfit 1:

This outfit's silhouette is similar to Mai's in the show and was perfect for a "new Gothic" cold weather look. Mai prefers not to show too much leg so the long black skirt and slouchy boots fit this aspect of her personality perfectly as well as followed the Gothic look well. The red turtle neck sweater serves as her signature pop of colour (her's is a turtle neck in the show as well). the lacy black blazer breaks the colour block and is similar to Mai's neckline in the show. The black coat's asymmetrical hem is also similar to Mai's and in again very "new Gothic". Finally the necklace and bracelets are very sophisticated and cultured looking (Mai is the daughter of a Governor after all). The sparkly black clutch completes the look.

Outfit 2:

For outfit 2 i did a more casual warmer weather Mai look. I thought that since the dress although perfect in cut and style, was a little bite short and gauzy for Mai. I added the black jeans to make the look more casual and then glamed it back up again with some trendy Goth-chic over the knee boots. the low neckline in countered by a red tank that adds a perfect pop of colour to the look. the bag is a bit more practical than in the last look and the bracelet symbolizes her quiet desire to rebel.

Outfit 3:

for my final formal wear outfit I chose a cute flapper dress with tights to keep it modest. both pieces are black and not only is the neckline perfect but the vintage look makes it feel quite sophisticated. the lacy flats are fancy and comfy. I added the pop of colour in the clutch and the ring, bracelet and earrings complete the vintage look. All in all it is a very chic, "new Gothic" look.

Thanks for stopping by and come back next time for my highly anticipated post on Ty lee.

Suki

To say that Suki is an awesome character is an extreme under statement. Suki is the tough, dependable and courageous leader of a group of women named the Kyoshi warriors. Suki started training to be a Kyoshi warrior at the age of 8 years old and even at that age it was apparent that Suki had an incredible skill. One day while patrolling her island home's coast she discovered a strange group of travelers and the rest is Avatar history.
Suki's Character is quite essential to the world of avatar because it is her character that pushes Sokka to not only become a better warrior but to be a better person as well.

Outfit 1:

Suki always has a pretty sporty look to her. She likes to be put together but wouldn't sacrifice comfort for style. She is quite different from Toph and Katara in how she dresses though because she's not as modest as either of them and she is between the two of them on the girly scale. Suki's biggest defining style factor is the polished sporty feel it has to it. To be honest Suki's style is very hard to pin down. It would be tempting to say that she would only wear sports wear but that isn't the case. Suki has an ambition and confidence around her that results in a completely unique fashion sense. I chose the top because it reminded me of the forest surrounding Kyoshi Island and the sleeves remind me of a kimono. The shorts fit nicely with the look but allow the wearer to run and jump and climb, along with the neat and tidy runners the baggy top is cinched at the waist with an earthy brown belt to accentuate the waist and the bag is a perfect Suki mix of earthy pretty and practical.

Outfit2:

this outfit invokes the warrior in Suki with the boots, army green tights and the ring. The top reminded me of Suki's Kyoshi warrior outfit and the shorts invoke the earthy side of Suki.

Outfit 3:

Here we go again with my favourite segment! This outfit is tough, sporty and feminine. The dress is comfy and allows a lot of movement. The colour of the dress not only reminds me of her uniform but also the forest surrounding her home. the leafy earrings and necklace add to that feel. the sweater has kimono like sleeves. The boots have a strong and earthy , yet feminine feel and the watch keeps thing sporty. Finally, the clutch adds a military chic edge to the outfit.
